Channahon, Illinois
The Land of Three Rivers
“Where the waters meet.”
Channahon sits at one of northern Illinois’ great transportation crossroads. Route 66 passed through the community from 1940 to 1977, and parts of that alignment ran near the historic Illinois & Michigan Canal. Today, Channahon State Park marks the official trailhead of the Illinois & Michigan Canal State Trail, linking the era of canal and river boats to the later age of automobiles that followed nearby Route 66.

Eric Scott Fisher
Eric Scott Fisher is a Chicago-area artist, animator, and filmmaker whose work blends hand-drawn imagery, handmade film techniques, and a love of storytelling. Working across animation, live-action, and installation, he combines traditional tools—ink, paint, paper, and 16mm film—with contemporary digital processes to create vibrant, kinetic pieces that feel both nostalgic and new.
Fisher’s projects often celebrate imagination, play, and the handmade mark. He is drawn to practical effects, paper cutouts, cel animation, and tactile textures that reveal the artist’s hand. His films and public artworks have been exhibited in galleries, libraries, and community spaces, inviting viewers of all ages to look closely and rediscover the pleasure of simple materials transformed through craft.
